On October 13th, 2011 the EPA extended the date by which farms must prepare or amend and implement their Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans to May 10th, 2013. The EPA cited a very difficult climatic year for farmers including extensive flooding as well as devastating fires. Many agricultural areas were declared disaster areas by federal and/or state governments. As such, the EPA felt farmers required additional time to prepare their SPCC Plans. Please note that the amendment to the enforcement date does not relieve farms from the liability of any spills that occur. More information can be found by clicking the following link
